ECG (Electrocardiogram)

An ECG records the electrical activity of the heart. Electrodes are placed on the chest and attached to a small machine.

1600204_577560528988342_2011098611_n[1]The electrodes pick up the electrical signal from the heart and produce a page of lines which the machine reads and then this result is checked by a Dr who is able to read the ECG.

 

An ECG is a valuable took in diagnosing Epilepsy as it can rule out other conditions of the heart which can mimic Epilepsy. Also many heart conditions in themselves can cause someone to have Epilepsy also.
